Highly Concurrent Computing Structures

Halatsis, Constantin (1984)

Over the last decade there is a growing awareness that the computational needs of several scientific areas can only be met by computing machinery that emply highly concurrent computing structures rather that raw speed. This is due not only to the fact that the gains of computational speed which were attributed in the past to faster technology, are showing down, but also to the fact that problems of greater size and complexity need to be tackled.
