Study of A Resource Arbitration - Interconnection Network for Multiprocessor Systems
The performance of a dynamic multistage interconnection network in a resource sharing environment is studied under various switching (CS) and the Fast Circuit Switching (FCS) while the load sharing strategies are the Random Splitting and the Modified Random Splitting. The case where resources exist with equal and differing service times corresponding to different special VLSI functional units is also studied. Additionally the influence of particioning to the network performance is investigated. Also a general asymptotic performance analysis is presented in order to compute the lower bound of the mean system response time.
