A RISC prolog machine architecture
This paper describes the architecture and implementation aspects of a Reduced instruction set Prolog Machine, called RPM. It has a co-processor architecture designed for executing compiled Prolog programs and it is attached to a Prolog system. The objective of our design was a RISC machine architecture with high performance. We describe the machine architecture in terms of the machine state and data instruction object definitions, anf present the system configuration. Finally we conclude with performance results for the proposed design, obtained from the RPM simulator.
