Innovation as a powerful tool for Problem Solving: The key role of Universities

Innovative entrepreneurial attempts are rather limited in Cyprus, compared to the EU average. Since its conception in 2011, the Enterprise Liaison Office at Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) works vigorously towards establishing a partnering platform between the CUT academic and student community and the regional enterprises in order to enable synergy creation in applied research and innovation. The CUT, as a prominent technical university, has a key role in fostering innovation in the local industry, through expanding basic research activities towards applied research and by generating competent graduates and researchers who are able to transfer critical and up-to-date technical knowledge and expertise to support specific enterprises’ needs.
