Sound irrigation management requires a knowledge and understanding of the interaction of plants, soils, and climate. Water conservation is a technical goal of irrigation management that relies upon techniques that maximizes the efficiency of an irrigation system. Certain concepts and methods of water conservation may be unfamiliar to some landscape design and maintenance personnel.
