Το κυπριακό ζήτημα μέσα από τις σελίδες του περιοδικού «Επιθεώρηση Τέχνης» ( 1954 – 1967)
Thesis
The magazine Revision of Art , ideologically affiliated to the Left, is one of the examples of the intellectual and cultural development taking place in Greece in the 1950s. Without losing its philological orientation and its aim to promote Greek and Cypriot culture without party ideologies, it intervenes in every development concerning the Cyprus issue. With a mild speech, free from the ideological and verbal rigidity of the Greek Communist Party, inspired by the principles of humanism, democracy, the defence of human rights and the sacred right of peoples to self-determination, it expresses timeless views, which are still relevant today. The editors of the magazine do not break their relations with the official policy of the Communist Party on the Cyprus question, but they maintain their intellectual and ideological freedom, constantly invoking the moral duty of intellectuals in the face of historical challenges. Although the life of the magazine would be violently ended by the imposition of the Greek junta, its presence in the Greek cultural scene is bright and humane.
