The SIBYL/RUNNER interactive forecasting system is a comprehensive package of time-shared computer programs that seek to handle four essential forecasting functions. The first is screening alternative forecasting techniques and identifying those methodologies most appropriate for a given situation. Second is the application of individual methodologies to a specific forecasting problem. The third function handled by SIBYL/RUNNER is comparing and combining the results obtained from applying different forecasting methods in a given situation. The fourth and final function is data handling, such as file creation, file update, transformation of variables, and graphing.en_UK
