| dc.description.abstract | Η εργασία αυτή ασχολήθηκε με το Σύστημα Διοίκησης ενός Νοσοκομείου, η περίπτωση των νοσοκομείων στην Κύπρο, με σκοπό την Αξιολόγηση και τις Προτάσεις. Πιο συγκεκριμένα ο σκοπός της μελέτης είναι η εξέταση της οργάνωσης και λειτουργίας του σημερινού συστήματος Διοίκησης των Νοσοκομείων της Κύπρου. Στόχος είναι η αξιολόγηση του και η υποβολή προτάσεων για την βελτίωση του σε σχέση με τις Γενικές Αρχές της Διοίκησης των Νοσοκομείων. Προκειμένου να υλοποιήσουμε τον σκοπό μας αναζητήσαμε ελληνική και διεθνή βιβλιογραφία καθώς και σχετικά άρθρα και έρευνες. Η Μεθοδολογία που ακολουθήθηκε ήταν η ανασκόπηση της ελληνικής και διεθνούς βιβλιογραφίας σχετικής με τις Αρχές της Διοίκησης ενός οργανισμού και ειδικότερα των Νοσοκομείων. Χρησιμοποιήθηκαν πρωτογενείς και δευτερογενείς πηγές. Παρουσιάζεται η οργάνωση και λειτουργία των Νοσοκομείων της Κύπρου βάση της σχετικής Νομοθεσίας και των Κανονιστικών Διοικητικών Πράξεων. Στη συνέχεια αξιολογούμε την λειτουργία του Διοικητικού Συστήματος των Νοσοκομείων στην Κύπρο, σχετικά με τις Αρχές της Διοίκησης. Η εξέταση και αξιολόγηση της λειτουργίας του συστήματος Νοσοκομείων στην Κύπρο μας βοήθησε στην καλύτερη κατανόηση του και στην εξαγωγή συμπερασμάτων, καθώς και στην υποβολή προτάσεων για βελτίωση του. Το σύστημα υγείας της Κύπρου εδράζεται ουσιαστικά πάνω στο Βρετανικό σύστημα του Beveridge, όπως είχε εισαχθεί από τους Βρετανούς αποικιοκράτες. Ουσιαστικά από το 1960 μέχρι σήμερα παραμένει περίπου το ίδιο με κάποιες αλλαγές ή και βελτιώσεις που επέφερε η νομοθεσία της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας. Το κρατικό σύστημα υγείας της Κύπρου παρέχει δωρεάν υπηρεσίες στο 80% του πληθυσμού αν και σήμερα φαίνεται ότι «πάσχει» και χρήζει βελτίωσης καλύτερης χρηματοδότησης από όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους και όχι μόνο από την Κυβέρνηση. | en_UK |
| dc.description.sponsorship | This project dealt with and investigated the administration system of a Hospital; the case of Hospital in Cyprus, in order to evaluate it and derive some conclusion and upon conclusions provides some recommendations. In particular, the major aims may be stated as follows:
- The investigation and evaluation of the organization and functioning of the present system of Administration of the Cyprus Hospitals.
- The drawing of some conclusion, relatively to General Management Principles.
- The provision of some recommendations for betterment of the system, based on the derived conclusions.
In order to carry out intentions we reviewed the relevant Greek and international bibliography including relevant journal articles and research papers. More specifically the bibliography reviewed had to do with the Principles of Management of an Organization, i.e. a Hospital. Both primary and secondary sources were used. The project presents the organization and functioning of the hospitals in Cyprus, as they are proposed by the relevant legislation and regulations. This organization and functioning was examined, evaluated and finally was compared to what general principles of management provide. Such examination and evaluation helped us in better understanding the Cyprus Health System, so that we were able to derive certain conclusions, and upon those conclusions to provide some recommendations for betterment of the system.
The Cyprus Health system resembles the British Health System that is known as the Beveridge System. This System was introduced and applied in Cyprus by the Colonial Administration of Cyprus (1878-1960). Basically, the system remained about the same until today. The Cyprus Government brought about various changes/ developments to meet the new demands of the population. The present Health System of Cyprus provides “free” medical services (cover by the government budget) up to about 80% of the population. However, nowadays people and governments have realized that the system back fives, and reconstruction and betterment are needed. More specifically the funding of the system urgently needs reshuffling to allocate its costs more efficiently among all involved parties (patients, employees, employers and the government). | en_UK |
